Have you dropped your phone, accidentally stepped on it or just found it at the bottom of your bag mysteriously cracked? You’re probably thinking that it is all over, and you have to go and buy an unexpected replacement. While this indeed an option, it is a pricey one. We’re going to have a look at a range of options that are before you:

1. Get your screen repaired

Have you ever walked into a shopping centre, and seen these stands that sell phone covers? Most of them offer a reasonably priced screen repair option, and have a very fast return rate, usually available in the next day or 2. It is one of the easiest and low cost options (price and duration varies depending on who you visit).

2. Consider replacing your phone

This option should be considered if your phone happens to be at least 2 years old. These days, most people tend to replace their smart phones once every three years, or once every two years if they are on a contract. If you were already contemplating about replacing your phone naturally, just arrange it to be replaced now, or (If you’re like us) try and wait until the next Apple or Samsung new release.

3.  Have a look on EBay or Amazon

Lots of people on EBay or Amazon tend to sell their older smart phones, possibly the model that you already have. This option should be considered if you don’t want to go out of the way to buy or repair your phone, but still want that familiar feeling. If you are going to consider this option, make sure you ask the seller these important questions, such as “does the phone work?’, “is the screen cracked”, “does it have a standard battery life” etc.

4. Perform a Repair job by yourself

It is actually quite possible to repair a screen by yourself but certainly not for the faint-hearted. If you head on over to various websites, such as iFixIt (www.ifixit.com), you can find tutorials to get started, as well as the pieces needed to repair the phone. Just remember that it is still possible to damage the phone even if you repair it yourself. This option should be considered for those who want the challenge, want to save money and have steady hands (and are willing to take the risk).
