Firefox Shortcuts

Do you use Firefox as your web browser? CNET has recently released their article highlighting 7 Firefox shortcuts to save your valuable time. Here is the simplified version. For Mac users, anytime there is a “Ctrl” prompt, use the “Command” button instead.

Head for home

Want to go back to the top of the webpage after reaching the bottom without having to manually moving the page up? You can do this by pressing the “Home” button to instantly return to the top.

Download Missing?

When you can’t find the file you just downloaded, you can quickly find it by using “Ctrl-J”, as this opens the Firefox Library, and has the “Downloads” file already selected for you.

Star Clicking

An easy method of adding a new bookmark, which can be done by clicking the star that appears in the far right of the address bar. You can also do this by using “Ctrl-D”. This will bring up the bookmark pop up box, so that you can quickly add the website to your favourites.

Tab Gone

Not only can you remove a tab by clicking on the little “x”, you can also close the current tab by using “Ctrl-W”. Comes in handy when you have many tabs open and can’t see the little “x”.

Scroll Faster

In Firefox, provided that your cursor isn’t in a text field (where you type), you can quickly scroll down the page by using the space bar, and can just as easily go up by using “Shift-Space”.

Lost and Find

When you can’t find what your looking for on the webpage, just use “Ctrl-F”, where you can search by typing in what you are looking for.

Make Firefox Faster with One Click

By using an extension known as “OneTab”, you can collapse all current open tabs into a single tab, which will reduce the impact on your browser.
