How Often Should You Replace Your Laptop?

A common question asked is how long should I wait before replacing? Most websites will say 3 to 4 years, but this isn’t a golden rule, as some computers can last longer. Another element to consider is how you have cared for the computer. Here are a few signs to look out for if you are considering to replace your laptop.

1. Your Computer Is Running Slow

A slow running computer is a sign of ageing. It takes longer to start up and power down, and some programs take longer to load. There are multiple reasons for a slow computer. As time goes on, it's easier to replace your laptop than to spend time troubleshooting.

2. You Are Experiencing Unexpected Shutdowns

As your computer gets older, you may experience unexpected shutdowns. This might be from overheating, possible old battery not charging properly, or the system suddenly shutting down without warning.

3. New Software Won't Load

As computer systems age, they become incompatible to some software. When this happens, it is time to get new laptop.

4. Your Laptop Security Is Outdated

Cybercrimes are on the rise. Your computer needs the ability to run software updates. If the laptop doesn't update properly, your data is not secure, and could be exposed to hackers and viruses.
