How to Resize MacBook Dock

The Apple Doc on a MacBook works as an application launcher, but sometimes it can be too big or small. Fortunately there are 2 easy methods you can use to resize the Doc on your MacBook, which most people might not know about. here is how. 

Resize using the mouse pointer

  • Here is the quick and easy method.

  • on your desktop, hover your mouse over the vertical divider of your Doc (located between the apps, file shortcut and Trash area)

  • in the right spot, move tour mouse and it will change into a resize up/down arrow.

  • once your mouse has changed symbol to the up/down arrow, you can drag your pointer to and from the edge of the screen to change the doc size.

  • by moving it closer to the Edge, the dock will shrink, and by moving it away from the edge screen, it will increase.

  • both can be applied to the maximum and the minimum respectively.

  • once you’re done, just release the mouse and the dock preferences will be applied.

Resize Dock via System Preferences

  • You might prefer to change your doc size using the traditional method, known as System Preferences

  • to open Dock Preferences, right click in an empty area of the dock near the diver line > select “Dock Preferences”.

  • within the Dock Preferences menu, you will see a Size bar. You can adjust as needed until you’re satisfied. Once done, close the dock preferences menu and your set.
