How to Print from Smartphones and Tablets

Did you know that your smartphone and tablet are able to print documents? To get you started here is a quick guide for both iOS and Android devices.

iOS - Apple AirPrint:

The best way to print documents on your iPhone or iPad is to use the Apple AirPrint. First make sure that both your iOS device and printer are on the same wi-fi network, and are within range. You will also need to make sure that your printer supports AirPrint.  You might need to update the printer driver (available from the manufacturer's website).

On your Apple device, open the app that you want to print from. To bring up the print option, tap on Share, and scroll to Print. Select the printer and choose AirPrint. When you are ready, tap print in the upper right corner.

Android - Google Cloud Print:

For Android devices, you should use the Google Cloud Print. Your device may already have Google Cloud Print built into the software. In case you don’t have the app, you can download the app here and follow the instructions. As with AirPrint, you will need to make sure that your printer supports Google Cloud Print.

Google Cloud Print acts like an add-on to your device, so you don’t need to run it to use it. To print from your Android device, open the document that you want to print, select the Menu button and click Print. This takes you to a new page. Click on the down arrow, select your printer and press Print.
