Apple has recently revealed model iPhone X. The iPhone X model brings a new design approach to smartphones with a price point of US $999. Here are some of the key features found in iPhone X.

OLED Screen

OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) is a flat light discharge of technology, which produces a bright light and is often used for screen displays. The OLED screen is stunning. Whilst this is like Android’s attempts of a bezel reduced screen, Apple has made an excellent job of hiding the cameras and sensors within the screen so that it can perform unique tasks such as Face ID.

Face ID

iPhone X introduces a new security feature, Face ID. This uses 8 different cameras and sensors that can’t be seen to recognize the user’s face. Face ID will work even if you are wearing glasses, cut your hair, or grow facial features. Low light won’t be an issue, as Face ID uses infrared. You can use Face ID to unlock the phone, Apple pay and other options that you used to do with “Touch ID”.

Home Button No More

The home button that we are so used to has been removed. Fortunately, the home button functionality has not been lost, but transformed into “Swiping Gestures”. For example, swipe up from the bottom brings you back to the home screen, or you can do a 1/2 screen wipe from the bottom to bring up the app switch. This may take some getting used to, but the removal of the home button lets us have more room to use the brilliant screen.

Cameras

iPhone X comes with a dual lens camera on the back of the device. This provides dual image stabilization, which gives amazing quality photos when combined with the camera’s 12-megapixel sensors.

For the front facing camera, it offers a huge number of new features, such as the infrared camera, ambient light sensor, speaker, microphone and the 7-megapixel camera.

Wireless Charging

After many years, Apple’s iPhone X will come with Qi wireless charging, which is meant to give faster charging compared to plugging in the USB Lightning cable. Unfortunately, you will have to purchase a wireless charger that is compatible with iPhone X to use this option.
